Beaver/Shreve Cemetery
and how
to get there |
Directions or
See Map
To get to this
cemetery, go south on highway 80 from Hillsboro until Beaver Creek Road,
where you will turn right. Follow it until Shreve Cemetery Road. Turn right
again. There will be a farm road to the left and before you get to the first house. Park and walk
up it until the road goes to the right and a path goes left. Take the path
and you will get to the cemetery. It is fenced in and you will know when you
are there. The last burial documented was in 1921.

This cemetery had a log church close by called Beaver Church. A little brook, called Beaver Creek, ran
nearby. This is a very old cemetery, and some of the monuments are not too clear on the names and dates. The cemetery is a long
way through the woods on a high hill.
